Class Descriptions

FYI Level 1

Learn basic, classical yoga postures, proper alignment, deep breath, coordinate breath and movement, and develop the ability to listen to your body with mindfulness. Emphasis is placed on strength, flexibility, balance, and concentration.

This class is designed to adapt to all body types, ages, and fitness levels. Great for beginners and experienced students who enjoy a gentler class.

FYI Level 2

This class teaches students to get stronger and more skilled with flowing sequences that coordinate breath and movement and refine postures to move beyond body mind limitations. This class emphasizes core strength, stamina, and mindfulness.

Great for intermediate and advanced students. Must have solid foundation of sun salutations and basic standing postures. Not suitable for beginners.

FYI All Levels

Students of all levels can enjoy this class. The class combines level 1 and level 2 poses. Students get options to step up or step down a pose to make it easier or more dynamic. This class is designed to adapt to all body types, ages, and fitness levels.

Yoga Basics with Props

This Iyengar-inspired class modifies traditional poses with props enabling students of all ages and abilities full access to Yoga. Emphasis is placed modifying poses for individual needs. Suitable for absolute beginners or those wishing a very gentle experience.

Gyrokenisis®

GYROKINESIS® – or ‘yoga for dancers’ stimulates and re-energizes the body improving range of motion and relieving stiffness. Its fully rotational exercises build the core and lean muscle strength. Classes begin seated on stools, then transition to floor work and standing positions targeting every muscle and joint in the body.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga supports the body with props and stimulates the body to relax and move toward balance. This class is perfect for those times you are feeling tired or stressed.

All Level Public Classes During Yoga Teacher Training (YTT)

The YTT is held one long weekend a month (Thursday-Sunday) and the studio is closed with the exception of the following two public classes which give you a very special opportunity to enjoy uniquely designed classes, yoga philosophy and meditation.

YTT- AM Class 8:00-9:30 AM Yoga and Meditation

This AM class is offered exclusively one long weekend a month during the YTT and is open to everyone. The class features a one hour yoga class and a 30 minute meditation practice. You will learn and practice a variety of meditation styles, philosophy.

YTT-PM Class 4:00-5:30 PM Posture Training Flow

This PM class is offered exclusively one long weekend a month during the YTT and is open to everyone. The class features a 1.5 hour posture training sequence of Yoga’s top 25 yoga poses as featured in Francesca’s upcoming book Teaching Down Dogs New Tricks™.
